In 2011 Taylor Swift was on top of her game in country music. Shania Twain was (and is) one of Swift’s musical heroes. The two superstars got together for one afternoon to film a Thelma & Louise themed video clip for the CMT Awards opening that same year. The clip even featured cameos from Kenny Rogers and Kid Rock.

Thelma and Louise is the 1991 mega-hit film starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis as two best friends setting out for a vacation weekend together and get into a heap of trouble. It was one of Brad Pitt’s first breakout movie roles, playing the object of affection for Davis’ Thelma.

Taylor and Shania were both seen dancing and clapping along to the music at the 65th Grammy Awards earlier this month (2/5). Taylor is gearing up for her “The Eras Tour,” and Twain, who just released her album Queen Of Me earlier this month (2/3), will be embarking on a world tour this year and next year.

We thought it would be fun to celebrate these two mega music stars getting together many years ago for some good times for CMT’s camera. Remember: Both of them made their dreams come true in Nashville before taking their music to the world.
