Lainey Wilson’s 2025 New Chapter

Lainey Wilson is co-hosting Backstage Country for a week! Wilson will bring her infectious energy, career highlights, personal stories to the airwaves. She'll talk about how it felt being part of Yellowstone and singing “Hang Tight Honey” on the iconic show. She'll also help settle the debate about artists from other genres switching to country music. 

Since co-hosting last year and everything that has happened to her since then she discussed what is important in her life now. “I think it's balance. I really do. I think it's making sure that, right now, I'm tending to my friendships and my relationships. I'm also doing my job; I'm writing my songs, and I am doing the things that keep me creative. I'm even getting bored at times, which is really important, I think, as a creative to get bored. So, I think that's what it would be.” 

Wilson also talked about her song “Out of Oklahoma” included in the movie Twisters’ soundtrack. “I think they did a great job when they told me they came to Nashville, and they were interested in it being a country soundtrack. And when they were to list all the names of the people that they wanted to get to be a part of it, I was ‘Man, if I can pull this off, then they're really gonna have something on their hands.’ And they pulled it off.” 

Wilson discussed getting dressed up for awards shows and how she decides what to wear. “It just depends. At the end of the day, Like, I'm not a dress girl, but if I can still feel like myself and feel comfortable and I can feel like comfortable in my own skin in a dress, who knows what'll happen? I'm not going to say never.”
