This Week’s Backstage Country Host: Kelsea Ballerini
This week’s Backstage Country host loves hosting the show so much, she’s back for more! Fresh from her latest album release Patterns, Kelsea Ballerini is back to co-host with Kelly Ford.
Patterns and Growing Up
Ford asked Ballerini what she wanted us to know about her latest album, Patterns. She became thoughtful before answering, “I want people to feel whatever they feel. I hope that people don’t dig too much into my truth. I feel like I put out there exactly what I wanted to know more, no less. And so I hope people just projected onto their lives and see what fits.”
Ballerini also reflected on her journey so far, being 31 and with Patterns already her fifth album. “I felt like I was still a teenager when I was putting out ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’ and ‘Peter Pan’ and I’ve lived a lot since then personally, professionally. And I feel really proud of what I’ve been able to share and show.” She also confessed that she used to care so much and even the smallest thing could knock her over. Now, Ballerini says, “I like myself. I like my life. I love my music. And so, if anyone doesn’t like that, then I’m not for them. And that is okay with me. I’m not for everyone. You’re not for everyone. No one is. And so I think. I don’t know, maybe that’s just growing up.”
Love in the Limelight
Ford also asked Kelsea Ballerini how it is to have a public relationship with Chase Stokes and how they’re navigating it. She shared, “Because we both have like big lives, and are both like people facing. But now, I mean, for two years into this, it’s like not that deep anymore,” she added, “I feel like and honestly, you hear it on the record like it’s taken a minute to get to such a place of just a solid teammate base that we have now. And I think that’s in any relationship, that’s the balance that we have now that we’ve really worked hard to get to where we have our unit in our real life and then we show up and celebrate the big wins and the work stuff. But at the end of the day, it’s like, we’re a team.”
What’s Next for Kelsea Ballerini
Ballerini is set to tour in the spring and bring Patterns to her fans. And of course, you might have already seen her guest star in the Ryan Murphy medical drama series Doctor Odyssey.
