Brantley Gilbert Teams Up with Country’s Best
Fans quickly noticed that Brantley Gilbert’s latest album features collaborations with other artists, including Ashley Cooke, Justin Moore, Gary Levox, Struggle Jennings and Demun Jones. Ford asked Gilbert if he had someone on his bucket list as a dream collab. “This one’s a quick, easy answer. The original Lynyrd Skynyrd band. We got to do some things with Skynyrd when Gary [Rossington, the band’s founding guitarist] was still alive. And obviously, I love those guys.” He also revealed that the band had been his favorite since he was a kid and what an honor it was to have worked with them.
Brantley Gilbert Honors His Fans
Ford commented on how loyal his fans are. Being in the industry for 20 years, Gilbert attributed his success to them. “Well, you know, I think you can draw it all up to the fact that if it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now.” He joked that without them, “It would have lasted about as long as most of my relationships when this whole thing started.”
As a songwriter, he also mentioned how he hopes his songs inspire or change the fans’ lives. He’s also grateful to see his fans, who have been to a lot of his shows and still keep coming back. He reiterated, “You know, a lot of those people came on board back then, they’ve been unwavering and they’re still right there beside us. I thank God for those folks every single day, multiple times a day.”
Brantley Gilbert Has Been In The Game For 20 Years
Ford asked Gilbert what he would like to change about the music industry, having been in it for 20 years. Gilbert became wistful, “One of the things that I see nowadays that I wish was different is, you know, we got a lot of folks coming from TikTok.” He was quick to clarify, “Please don’t think I’m jumping on the bandwagon of being bitter but we used to have to grind through these places and it seems like some of these kids pop up overnight.” He added, “For their sakes, I wish they could spend a little time in those holes-in-the wall-bars.”
As an artist who’s been around for a long time, he feels that new artists should listen to his advice. “I feel like there’s a lot to be learned, coming up, paying dues that way. So, for a lot of these kids, they have some of that experience, before they get thrown on these big stages in front of these big crowds.”
