Miranda Lambert Comes Full Circle On New Album

As lead single “Wranglers” approaches the Top 30 at country radio, Miranda Lambert is set to release her ninth solo studio album, Postcards from Texas, tomorrow (9/13) via Republic Records.
To celebrate, the three-time GRAMMY Award-winner joins NBC’s TODAY with Hoda & Jenna on release day, appearing during the 10 a.m. hour to discuss the return-to-her-roots album with Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb.
Miranda said, "I have not made a record in Texas since I was 18, my little independent album, so this is full circle – coming back home to the root, to kind of start fresh with a new label and sound and some new band members I haven’t played with. Being back home and really remembering why I love country music, it’s already leaning way more country, which I love."
She added, "My favorite part of being in the studio is taking something that was just a little guitar/vocal, three chords and the truth, a thought, and then you spend time with these amazingly talented people that bring this song to a whole different place. They bring it to actual life in front of your ears and it’s such a magical process. Making new music always gives you a little bit of butterflies, which I love because that means you still care after all these years."
Lambert takes a vulnerable and reflective turn with a new song release on Post Cards From Texas album, with "No Man’s Land."
Lambert says of the new tune, "'No Man’s Land’ is a love song to me, and it’s one of my favorite songs I’ve maybe ever written. When Luke [Dick, co-writer] sent me the initial idea, the lyrics just struck me—they were so beautiful, so raw. It felt like, ‘This is how I can explain it to the man who’s willing to love a girl like me—a free spirit, a wildflower, a wild card but with a big heart and all the love to give."
She added, "It's that sentiment of ‘love her but leave her wild,’ and it’s not really a warning; it’s just a ‘let me tell you what you're getting into, and if you want to jump off and take this ride with me, then let’s go.’”
"'No Man’s Land' is like saying, 'Come with me. Let’s do this together, rather than, ‘I’m your property.’ It’s about embracing the wild, uncharted territories of love and life, with all the risks and rewards that come with it.”
