5 Fun Facts About Chris Young You Probably Didn’t Know

Country music fans feel they know their favorite artists based on the lyrics of their songs, after all, most artists draw inspiration from their personal experiences. However, these artists are so much more than that. Take, for example, Chris Young. He is a co-host of a podcast, The Quad with Chris Young.  

In an interview with Backstage Country’s Kelly Ford, Young shared facts about him that might surprise even his long-time fans.  

Ford asked Young if the Country music scene gave him the boot (unlikely), what genre will he pursue? Young revealed, “If I had to pick another genre. I would probably do R&B.” 

Another interesting fact that fans would want to know about the country crooner is that he loves watching TV. When asked what his current guilty pleasure TV show is, he playfully responded, “Do you want the honest answer, or do you want me to try to hide the fact that I've watched this?” Sensing something juicy, Ford insisted on the truth. His guilty pleasure? Love Island. “I've watched every single episode of it. I was sitting there watching it with all watch people at my house, and then I. Yeah, I went down the rabbit hole.”  

During the interview, Ford noticed a ring Young was wearing and asked him about it. “I won't go into all the details of why and how, but I will say that yes, this is a real Texas Rangers World Series ring,” Young explained. He shared that he attended one of the World Series games with a friend who works for MLB, but clarified, “He's not the one that helped me get one. But this is not a replica. This is a Real-World Series ring and it's really cool.” 

Country music stars —they're just like us, spending hours scrolling through TikTok! When asked by Ford which TikTok trend needs to go, Young didn’t hesitate: “I would say using images from a movie as a filter, you got to give it at least like three weeks.” He added, “You can't immediately start posting stuff about it because people are going to scroll by it. They're going to get that part of the movie ruined for him as a surprise.” Understandable, especially for fans who can’t watch a movie as soon as it is released. Listen to the man, people! 

“Anytime there's a trend, I'm like immediately like, I want to see the funniest video that somebody made on this ever.” 

Ford asked Young about his “dream cheat meal.” The answer’s easy for him, “Whatever the best restaurant nearby is, for this, Detroit-style pepperoni pizza.” (Can’t argue with that!)
