Thomas Rhett’s ‘About A Woman’ And His Funny Pre-Show Ritual
Thomas Rhett’s new album, About A Woman, is scheduled to be released on Aug. 23. It’s no secret who the inspiration for the album is, but Rhett still shared a behind-the-scenes of the creative process that brought his latest album to life.
“About a Woman” An Eclectic Mix
Lauren, Rhett’s wife of 11 years, is obviously the album’s muse, with Rhett even saying the album “gave me an opportunity to say ‘I love you’ in a lot of different ways.” Working alongside long-time collaborators and new producers and writers, Rhett created a collection of songs that are on the way to becoming instant classics.
The album is an eclectic mix of lighthearted, modern and chill country, ballad, acoustic, soulful and a rare heartbreak song.

Lucky Fans Get to Join Him on The Today Show
Rhett recently did a giveaway and a flyaway to lucky fans to join him on The Today Show and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon during the album’s launch. As Rhett said in an interview, “They’re going to get to see all the stuff that we’re going to do.” He explained, “I love getting people to kind of get to see how much work goes into, you know, releasing a project because it is not for the faint of heart. And so, I’m really excited for fans to be able to get to be a part of that.”
Rhett’s Pre-Show Ritual
As Rhett prepares for a series of upcoming shows, fans have been hollering in one of Rhett’s posts about his pre-show ritual of warming up in the bathroom.
“It’s not a glamorous place to warm up, but for some reason, like, bathrooms have the best acoustics in the world.” Sounds reasonable, right? What’s funny though is that he’s not alone during these times.
“A lot of the time, me and the band are like you know, festivals in the middle of nowhere, but there’s always a bathroom somewhere, and we all kind of get in there and I’ll grab a guitar, and we’ll sing a lot of the songs in the set,” he said. “And that’s kind of how we kind of get ready for our show, which is kind of gross and kind of hilarious at the same time.”
