When Jordan Davis released his song "Buy Dirt" featuring Luke Bryan in 2021, he knew it was special. To this day, it continues to be a very impactful country song that the guys each play out on the road.

"When Jordan sent the song to me, I was fired up to be a part of it and really happy to share the experience with him and be on this song," Bryan revealed on Shawn Parr's Backstage Country. "This thing was Jordan's all the way, and he let me be a part of it. And I just kind of hitched my wagon to the ride. And the cool part about it is, yeah, we were able to make a great video and I was able to perform the song all year on tour and watch the fans sing. And I'm so excited Jordan had such a big hit as a writer and an artist."

Davis co-wrote "Buy Dirt" along with his brother Jacob Davis, and brothers Josh and Matt Jenkins. The country hit was originally released on his Buy Dirt EP and went on to be featured on his sophomore album, Bluebird Days, which dropped at the top of 2023.

"I think it was just a great marriage of the right song. And he and I doing that together. And I think we both really embody what the song is. Buying dirt to settle down and raise a family and live a happy life is something he and I see eye to eye on, and I think so did the fans," Bryan told Parr.

Today is National Sunglasses Day, and when sunglasses grace the face of a country superstar, it makes them look even cooler. Yeah, it's actually a scientific fact that sunglasses make people look more attractive.

A couple of examples of this fact come from National Today. They say that shades offer a symmetry structure to your face. They added that no face is perfectly symmetrical, but sunglasses hide that. Sunglasses also add an air of mystery: when you cannot see someone's eye movements, they appear more mysterious.

Sunglasses first became popular in the 1920s when movie stars of the day started to wear them. It wasn't until 1937 when Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses became the hottest accessory for celebrities and the rest of society. The original glasses featured a plastic frame with the now classic Aviator shape. The sunglasses were remodeled with a metal frame the following year and rebranded as the Ray-Ban Aviator. However, sunglasses were first created by the Chinese, who started to tint eyeglasses in the 12th century.

Country stars, like movie stars, have often worn sunglasses. Eric Church added the accessory to his style and brand as a permanent fixture when he released his Chief album in 2011, donning aviator sunglasses on the cover. Church is not often seen without his signature sunglasses wherever he is appearing on stage, on TV, or on red carpets. Country icon Hank Williams Jr. also started wearing sunglasses as a permanent look after an accident damaged his face.

As we join the country in celebrating National Sunglasses Day, we take a look at country stars on stage or just out and about wearing shades.
