Luke Combs: His Sweet ‘Morning Jam’ With Tex
Luke Combs is spending time with his newly expanded family of four (wife Nicole and sons Tex and new baby Beau) since he returned from a tour in Australia and is getting ready to head out for shows in Europe at the end of next week.
Luke posted some sweet photos of himself playing the guitar in the family living room, and it looks like he’s singing to one-year-old Tex, who appears to be crawling. Combs captioned the images on Instagram with lyrics to a song he wrote about his son on his Getting Old album. He wrote, “I got a youngin’ of my own / He’s too young to understand it / When he gets a little older / Watching the stage where I’m standing / He’ll know it’s about him when he hears me sing / I’ll take you with me.”
He also wrote over one of the photos, “Morning jam sesh.”

Luke appreciates fans spending their money on tickets more than you would think. He spent much of his money on concerts before becoming a country star.
Combs told me in an interview not long ago, “I will never take for granted the people that spend their hard-earned money and see a show because I used to love going to concerts so much when I was growing up. And when I was in college, I was working two jobs and playing. And when anybody would come up to our college town, I would spend that ten or fifteen bucks, even if it was like I couldn’t get whatever I wanted that week as far as groceries because of that concert.”
He added, “So, I can understand what that sacrifice is like. And to me, it means so much because it helps me be able to record this music and have time to write it and get to go out see the world and meet these people that really are everything to what we do. Without the fans, none of this exists.”
