Tim McGraw Sees Multiple Family Generations At His Shows
Tim McGraw’s latest chart single, “Standing Room Only,” continues to move North on the country music charts this week in the Top 15. As he preps the new work, Tim has scattered tour dates this summer at various festivals, like Country Jam in Wisconsin on Saturday (7/22) and Cheyenne Frontier Days on July 27.
McGraw has been charting number-one songs, winning awards, and touring as a country superstar for nearly 30 years. As he told me in a recent interview, he sees people of all ages at his shows. He offered, “I see seven, eight-year-old little girls wearin’ my t-shirts and holdin’ up signs and pictures, and they want autographs and things like that, and they’re singin’ the words to the songs that I recorded years and years and years ago in my career, so obviously, they got that from their mothers or their fathers.”
He adds, “And then you see sixty-five-year-old couples out there who were in their forties when I started makin’ records. So, there are three generations of people that are listenin’ to the music that we’ve made, and I think that’s good, not only for me, but it’s good for country music in a lotta ways.”

Tim recently announced details on his brand new album Standing Room Only, which will be released on August 25. McGraw also announced a new song from the project called “Hey Whiskey.”
Standing Room Only will feature 13 new tracks produced by Tim and his longtime producing partner Byron Gallimore. The new album marks McGraw’s first new record since 2020’s Here On Earth, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Chart.
Tim said, “As an artist, I always want to dig deeper and get better every time I make a new record – it’s a big part of what drives me, and I really believe this is one of the best projects we’ve made. I’ve been working on this album since 2020, and this collection of songs is some of the most emotional, thought-provoking, and life-affirming music I’ve ever recorded.”
He added, “I’m excited to have ‘Hey Whiskey’ out so fans can start hearing more of what we’re working on – and maybe even more before August…”
