Tim McGraw, Chris Stapleton Among 2023 ACM Honorees

The Academy of Country Music announced today (6/27) that Tim McGraw, Kane Brown, Charlie Daniels, HARDY, and Chris Stapleton will be among the recipients of the Special Awards for the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards. The honorees will be celebrated during the 16th Annual Academy of Country Music Honors.

The event will take place Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Carly Pearce will host it for the third straight year. Carly said, "The Academy of Country Music has played such a crucial role in the rise of my career in the last several years, giving me opportunities to expand my artistry with hosting." She added, "To be able to come back as the host of the ACM Honors for the third year in a row, I feel so grateful and excited for what I know will be such a special night!"

2023 ACM Honors Award Honorees:

Chris Stapleton will receive the prestigious ACM Triple Crown Award. It follows his first win for ACM Entertainer of the Year at the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards. Stapleton qualified for the Triple Crown Award after winning ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year, ACM Male Vocalist of the Year, and ACM Entertainer of the Year throughout his career. It's an honor only eight other artists have been awarded.

Tim McGraw has been chosen to receive the ACM Icon Award. This award is presented to an artist or industry leader who has advanced the genre's popularity through their contributions. Things like songwriting, recording, production, touring, film, television, literary works, philanthropic contributions, and other goodwill efforts.

Kane Brown has been chosen to receive the International Award. Inspired by Jim Reeves, and presented to a artist or industry leader for outstanding contributions to the growth of Country Music worldwide.

BRELAND has been chosen to receive the first-ever ACM Lift Every Voice Award. This award is presented to an artist who pivotally elevates underrepresented voices throughout the Country Music genre, transcending demographics and geography.

The late Charlie Daniels has been chosen for the ACM Spirit Award. The award honors the contributions of Merle Haggard, who received 20 ACM Awards in his career, including the Triple Crown Award. This award is presented to a singer-songwriter who continues the legacy of Country Music legend Merle Haggard. Crafting great songs, and epitomizing Haggard's spirit through genuine performances and great storytelling.

Other award honorees include Clint Black, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Mike Dungan, Ashley Gorley, and K.T. Oslin.

Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
