We had such a great time with Brantley Gilbert all this week cohosting Shawn Parr’s Backstage Country. We put Brantley in the hot seat and asked him a couple rapid fire questions. Check out his answers and listen to the segment below:
If you could duet with any artist living or past, who would it be?
Hank Jr. And I’ve done that. But I’d do it again.
What album would fans be surprised is in your collection?
There’s a duo named Dermot Kennedy that came out not long ago. They’ve got some real killer stuff. It’s songwriter stuff.
What’s your go to movie when you just need a laugh?
The Notebook.
What phrases do you overuse?
You’d be better of trying to sandpaper a mountain lion’s [explicit] in a phone booth than to mess with me.
Which one of these can’t you live without? Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok.
I can live without all of them.
DC or Marvel, who’s your favorite character?
I’m a Superman guy, I like Superman.
Essential app on your phone, not including any social media and why.
My hunt stand app lets me travel around the farm without getting lost. So that ain’t a bad one.
What do you value most in your friends and why?
Honesty, loyalty. Loyalty is a big one for me. I’m loyal to a fault, and it’s bit me in the butt a few times, But the guys that I have in my life now are not only deserving of trust, I don’t surround myself with yes men. I don’t surround myself with people that talk too much or that are very loud. I surround myself with people that take life seriously and, you know, they aren’t afraid to have a good time. At the same time there are people that are not afraid to hold me accountable that knew me before all this happened and keep me grounded and keep me centered and face.
