Brett Young Talks Recording Tim McGraw Song on Next Album
Brett Young gives Tim McGraw credit for being the artist that made him fall in love with country music.
When Young sat down with Shawn Parr this week as host of Backstage Country they dove into their relationship and the cover Young does of McGraw’s “Don’t Take The Girl”.
Parr asked if he has plans to record the cover he often performs in concert. Young responded, “Yeah, absolutely. It’s recorded, I have it, the whole new record is actually finished and we’re just sitting on it until You Didn’t stops climbing the chart”.
Next year “Don’t Take the Girl” will celebrate 30 years and Young played us a sneak peek of his cover which you can hear below:
“Wow, I can’t wait to play this song in its entirety”, said Parr after hearing the cut. “I know your fans can’t wait to hear it in its entirety. And what a great way to celebrate Tim McGraw 30 years later”.
Young added, “Tim’s great, that song’s incredible, and I owe a lot to that song for where I’m at in this business now”.
