Thomas Rhett’s Birthday Was A Light In A ‘Heavy Week’
Thomas Rhett celebrated his 33rd birthday on March 30. It was a rough week for Nashville as the Nashville school shooting at Covenant House happened on that Monday (3/27). Thomas has just signed on to do a benefit concert for the school shooting victims at Belmont University on April 12.
Rhett posted a photo of himself and his wife Lauren on a couple of horses yesterday (4/4) on Instagram. He captioned the image, “Wanted to say thank y’all for all the birthday love last week. This was how I spent my day – some light in a really heavy week. Love y’all.”
Many fans responded to the post, including one who said, “Prayers for TN. HBD. Here’s to many more. Lauren looks beautiful as usual.” Another fan wrote, “Glad you had a beautiful time with your darling wife! Sorry for the heavy week!” One more fan commented, “Love you guys!”

Thomas recently posted a video of himself walking a horse and then getting a riding lesson. In the caption, he confessed that he has been “freaked out by horses most of my life,” which is why the moment was so significant. Thomas’ wife Lauren grew up around horses, and three of his four daughters now ride horses two or three days a week, and because of that, he said, “I need to get more comfortable around them. Today was the closest I’ve really been to a horse in my adult years, and it was incredible. I plan to be around them a lot more often.”
Now Thomas revealed that not only is he more comfortable with horses, but he and his family have also added a few horses to their family. Rhett said, “We’re actually building a little barn at our farm. We had one, and now we have three of ’em. So, I get why people say don’t become a horse person unless you’re ready to get into an intense hobby. And now I’m starting to understand it. I’m fully into it, man. I love it.”
