Carly Pearce seems to have been everywhere in the last year. She hosted the ACM Honors in Nashville, was celebrated as a CMT Artist of the Year, attended the CMA Awards, performed on the show, headlined shows at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, and even hosted the CMA Country Christmas TV special.

We were surprised when we asked what many fans don't know about her. She told us, "Something that you don't know… I am a little bit shy at my core. When I'm at home by myself, I'm kind of an introvert and just a little bit of a loner (laugh)."

One thing Pearce admits to not being crazy for is sports, so when many country stars jumped for joy when Georgia won the College National Football Championship earlier this month, she was not watching. When it comes to sports, she admits she only cheers for one team, the University of Kentucky basketball. Carly said, "I love everything to do with the Kentucky Wildcats basketball. But I grew up with a father that's very into sports and was very athletic. We like to watch races and running 'cause we both run, and things like that." She added, "But I'm not very athletic other than running, so I've never really gotten that super into it, other than UK basketball."

Getting ready to start touring again this spring with Blake Shelton, Carly recently posted to Twitter, "Still can't believe I will be back on the road with @blakeshelton! The #BackToTheHonkyTonk Tour starts in ONE MONTH!"

This week (1/19), Pearce will be performing at Luke Bryan's "Crash My Playa" in Mexico. She posted to Twitter, "SO excited to head to Mexico this week for #CrashMyPlaya! I perform on Thursday at 7:30! See y'all at the Beach Stage!"

Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
